  • Children all respond to separation in different ways. We welcome you to stay with your child for 5-10 minutes in the beginning of class if you feel it is needed. You are encouraged to bring in a photograph of your family members to help soothe your child in your absence.

  • Most children calm down from parent separation within just a few minutes. If you would feel more comfortable you are welcome to stay around outside the classroom to observe or you may leave your number with the teacher and they can report to you with how your child is doing.

  • We encourage an “open-door policy” with our classroom and welcome you to come visit or observe your child and the classroom anytime you would like. To limit interruptions we ask that no more than 2 people may visit at a time.

  • If you foresee you will be late in picking your child up due to a traffic jam, doctor’s appointment or health issue please notify the teacher by text or phone call as soon as possible. Any child left 10 minutes after the end of class will be billed $1.00 per minute and will be expected to be paid upon pick up or before the child can return to their next scheduled session.

  • If you know that you are unable to pick your child up from school, please notify the teacher by text or phone call to advise who will be picking up that day. When you are filling out your registration information you will receive an emergency card where you will list friends and family who will be allowed to pick up your child. If someone who is not on that list will be picking up your child it is your responsibility to correspond that information with the teacher that day.

  • The Co-Op follows the Clarkston School District Calendar. When the Clarkston schools are not in session the Co-Op will also be closed. We observe Thanksgiving break, winter break, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Mid-Winter Break, Spring Break, and Good Friday.

  • If Clarkston Community Schools declares a “Snow Day” we will also cancel school for that day. An email, text and Facebook post will be sent as soon as possible when closing.
